Was worried...

I've dreaded weighing in since I had the week of "whatever."  However, I promised myself that no matter, I'd do it before Monday.  This morning I stepped on.  Looked in disbelief and stepped off, only to redo it.

The result- 301.2!

Which means, even though I took a week off, I still managed to not go crazy and even managed to LOSE weight in the 14 days since I weighed in last.  CHEERS!!  1.4 pounds of loss.

This coming week involves a trip to Boise, some family drama, and a BIG test that I've got to take/pass.  This test is my 4th time trying it.  It's math, I despise math, and I'm freaking out about it again.  The times I've taken it I've only missed it by 1-4 questions.  Which hurts my head even more.

This week I will work on not letting the stress win, maintaining my water levels, and continuing with my movement and exercise.  My first short term goal is within my grasp.  I hope to have in reached in the next 2 weeks.

My goals for this year....

I'm doing them fairly simple.

1.  Drink more.
2.  Move more.
3.  Stay positive.

1.  I drink a lot when I'm in school.  But when I'm home, I stop for some reason.  So, I'm hoping to keep with it an ddrink at least 3-4 glasses when I get home form school and before bed.

2.  Move- whatever it is.  I like classes, and I'm a member at our local YMCA.  I'm out of shape now (how quickly that happens when you stop) but I am building it back up.  I also plan to move more in my classroom, gotta find my pedometer!

3.  Not that I'm the most negative person ever, but I need to focus on the good and not linger on the bad.  I stress out for everything, even people I hardly know.  I need to just let it go and not take it in.  If that makes any kind of sense at all!

2011, you ended good.

So I'm ending the year 2011 with a weight of 252.4!
My starting 2011 weight was 278, which makes 2011 a year of the LOSER!!  I had a 25.6 pound loss!

HOLY COWS!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty dang impressed, I admit to not trying near as hard after the school year started.  And with the holidays I've been avoiding the scale.  I am up about 5 pounds I guess since before Thanksgiving, but I am good with that.

People are starting to notice.  Not so much as people I work with, minus the librarian (but we talk about losing weight all the time.  She lost 60 pounds over the course of 2 years prior to me moving here and meeting her.)  But especially people on FB.  Most noticeable was a picture of me for our Christmas card.  My jeans are about to fall off, they are a size 22W and I would imagine I need a 18W (money's a bit tight, and jeans aren't worn very much.)  My sister made the comment that I needed new jeans because they were way too big.

2011 was a hard, hard year.  We moved to a new state, changed jobs (my husband twice- and LOVES the final choice,) I had a hard time dealing with the death of a beloved student of mine... plus a lot of medical drama while we were waiting for insurance to start.  (Why is it, you never seem to have medical drama while you have insurance?!)

We weathered it... we're still weathering it.  But in terms of health and fitness, I ended it with a bang.  I had a goal to lose, and I met it.  I didn't attach a number, and I am glad about that- because I think it would be higher than what I did lose.

I'm thinking about goals for 2012.
I have high hopes for the coming year as well.

Welcome 2011, bah to 2010.

2010 was not the year for me, or for our family.  So much happening with a major lay off for my husband.  Fighting the banks and doing 110% of everything we could think of to keep our home and deciding in November we just can't do it... Sickness, thankfully the lump on my husbands head was not cancerous (I was seriously scared- he has family history of brain cancer, his father died from it's 3rd attack.)  I could go on and on, but instead I bid it a good, swift kick in the pants as I watched it go bye-bye last night.

This morning I woke up sick to my stomach- it's been happening for the last 2 weeks.  In the back of my mind I wondered if it could be "it."  Kinda funny since of course "it" would happen while we were not in any position (me) emotionally for "it" to come.  So this morning I did a POAS and it was single lined.  It was a huge relief, but also depressing.  I also know that it's possible to be too early to know anything-- so I'll wrap my head around it.

2011 is gonna be a good year.  I've made a couple goals for myself.  Last year I didn't make any.  While some people scoff at it-- I really think I need to have that goal and be mindful of it to keep it.  So this year, I'm putting it out there.

1.  I will make a conscience choice to eat breakfast every morning.  Whether it's just a slice of toast & PB, or cereal, or whatever- I will "eat" something.  (This is huge for me, everyone who knows me KNOWS I do not eat until around noonish most days.)

2.  I will participate in at least 5 races (1 mile, 5K, 10K, etc) this calendar year.  If I can't (because of $$$) I will set a date and time and have my own race for me.  With someone (son or kid) timing me and making sure I do the right distance.

3.  I will try and eat less from "boxes & cans."  Which, again, is HUGE for me.  Being in Montana means that fresh produce in the winter months (think Sept-May) are crazy $$$$$$$$.  However, I really want to turn over how/what I eat.

I'm starting today at my highest I can recall... 277 on the scale.  Which means I WAY over ate from my last weigh in, in the tune of 10 pounds.  That's what I get for eating, watching movies and avoiding my Zumba classes.  The only exercise I did was XC skiing on Christmas day- but we came home to a world of food, snacks and drinks.

2011, I have high hopes for you.

Back to basics

This was the theme for the motivational lecture I gave.  I think it was a big hit.  It was for me-- reminded me of where I've come from, where I'm going, and what I need to do.  Both from what I've done and what I've not done.

Someone mentioned that I looked really great, I said thanks.  I'm not down, and if I am- it's barely down.  The last couple weeks have been very minimal in the losing department.  But last night I decided to get on the scale and see how I was doing.

HOLY COW!!  What a week of eating all 3 meals, having 2 snacks, and eating mostly produce has done for me.  When not eating produce, getting just a scoop of "whatever" and being done.  If I'm still  hungry, getting water or lemonade to drink to fill me up.

I'm excited to see my weigh in come Wednesday!!

Weigh in day (back to school edition, B2SE) #1

274.6

My goal is to lose 15 pounds by my birthday week weigh in, which would be 11/24, 12 weeks away. I know some might think this is a little goal, and it is. But I have such a stress induced coma when goals are concerned, that I want to make sure I can hit it and not have some crazy 4 poound a week loss!

On 11/24 I wanna weigh in at 259.6!

2010: the goals

My resolutions for 2010 are as follows.

1.) Spend more time with my family. Usually family time is running around. The tv is on, computer is going, dinner is making. I want to take the time to have nothing but us. Goal is a family date twice a month. I know this is important-- especially as my son gets older and starts to spread his wings more and more. I was raised with a mom who pushed family stuff. I'm sure I pushed back & whined, but I have some fond memories of those times!

2.) Date myself at least once a week. How easy it is to forget about my own needs. I plan on scheduling time just for me!! Weekly, possibly daily, to do something just for me. Paint my toenails, call a friend, sit in the sun… I'm nothing thinking expensive things... just time to myself. Even a walk (which will work with #3) or sitting on the porch alone.

3.) Exercise for 30 minutes every day. I do exercise most days. But I want to schedule it, just like above, and make it a priority. My stress levels will thank me, as will my doctors!

4.) Remind myself “there is no time like the present.” I’m guilty of pushing things off to later. Whether it’s to attend a show, or learn something new. This last year has shown me that you never know what is going to happen. Do it now!
